Older women get hearing advice

The weekly meetings of the Older Women’s Network Mackay (OWN) focus on different issues.

These can vary, and include health, education, wellness, battling social isolation and usually involve a good old-fashioned laugh.

Hearing was on the agenda for the month of July. Our invited guest, Jodie Miles from Mackay Hearing, provided us with a comprehensive overview of how our hearing operates and how common ailments might occur.

Jodie had a display of “modern day” hearing aids and many myths were dispelled.

Jodie also covered the issue of tinnitus, a very common complaint, and offered some potential solutions.

New members are always welcome; we meet each Tuesday at 9.30am at the Iona Hall in Brookes St, West Mackay.
