YOU’RE not just hearing things – it’s all true!
Mackay’s only locally and independently owned hearing service, Mackay Hearing, has commenced practice at the Mackay GP Superclinic, Rural View.
Principal audiologist and director Jodie Miles said her main focus was to improve hearing health in our region and give local people the care and attention they deserve.
“Your hearing is your connection to loved ones and the world”, Jodie said. “My life’s work is to maintain and enhance that connection.”
With dual qualifications in audiology and speech therapy and over 10 years of experience in audiology, Jodie offers a comprehensive range of premium hearing services and products.
Treating clients of all ages, Mackay Hearing help children, adults and are accredited to provide high quality free and subsidised services to pensioners and veterans.
“People are often surprised at the difference good hearing makes in their life”.
“I’ve seen a number of children who seem to have normal hearing but then have trouble following instructions in a noisy classroom. These children can be misdiagnosed or just thought of as having poor behaviour”. “Often these kids will have a form of auditory processing disorder and by working with the child, their parents and their teacher – we can have a significant impact on their learning and development”.
With plans well underway for a permanent clinic at the soon to be completed City GP Superclinic on Boundary Road at Ooralea, services will be provided from the Rural View clinic on a temporary basis.
