Expo stall an expo-nential success

Mackay Hearing were delighted to have been part of this year’s successful Senior’s Expo at Mackay’s Senior Citizen’s Centre.

Organised by Mackay Regional Council as part of Senior’s Week, the expo included display stalls from over 70 groups and organisations offering services for seniors. The expo also included a variety of performances, prizes, refreshments and even a BBQ lunch.

Principal audiologist and director Jodie Miles relished the opportunity to chat about hearing health with expo attendees at the Mackay Hearing display stall.

“With hearing awareness week just around the corner, the Senior’s Expo was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness on the importance of hearing and hearing treatment options. The high level of interest in hearing health was really pleasing” Ms Miles said.

“Like any local event, it was also a wonderful opportunity to catch-up with familiar faces and make new contacts”.

The Mackay Hearing display stall featured a free-to-enter raffle for an Oricom TP100 care phone, which proved popular with expo attendees. Jane Lazenbury (pictured below) was drawn as the lucky winner of the phone.

“I must commend Mackay Regional Council in organising a well-run, diverse and well-supported event. The amount and variety of meaningful information presented to our region’s seniors was very impressive” Ms Miles said.

“We look forward to being part of the expo in future years”.
