Mackay Hearing is currently focused on Hearing Awareness Week, taking place from August 21 and August 27. To help promote hearing health in Mackay, Mackay Hearing will be hosting activities throughout the month of August.
The first event will be a senior’s health information session on August 25 at 9am in the Seniors Citizens Hall on Macalister St. It will feature a presentation on healthy eating by Naturopath Jody Walker and a hearing health presentation by Ms Miles. To RSVP for the event contact Mackay Hearing on 4952 4649 by August 19.
Ms Miles will also have a stall set up at Mackay Regional Council’s Seniors Expo on August 16, to help those with any concerns or queries about their hearing health. The Seniors Expo is presented by Mackay Regional Council and there will be refreshments and a barbeque lunch available on the day. It will be free to enter the event and raffles and prizes will also be drawn through the day.
To further promote hearing health in the region, Ms Miles will be conducting free hearing screens in Mackay, Sarina and the Pioneer Valley. A hearing screen is a quick test to monitor your hearing health and to identify if you need more testing. All of the information regarding the free hearing screens can be found at mackayhearing.com.au, including where you can book in to secure a spot. Alternatively, you can call the Mackay Hearing clinic for further information.
The Ooralea clinic is located on 160 Boundary Rd, Ooralea. Mackay Hearing is open Monday to Saturday from 8.30am-4.30pm and Thursday nights by appointment.
